As stated in the Australian & New Zealand Academy of Endodontists Inc. Constitution:
All applications or nominations for membership in any category, or for changes in category, must be submitted to the Secretary in the manner prescribed by the Council in their absolute discretion and signed and dated by the applicant. The Secretary must also receive full particulars of the applicant's professional circumstances and qualifications, together with such other information as may be required from time to time, and shall be accompanied by appropriate application fees before referring the application or nomination to the Council for consideration.
A simple majority of Councillors present at a Council Meeting or by post, voting in favour of the membership of an applicant shall be sufficient for his election. Except where an applicant is declined unanimously by Councillors at that vote, an unsuccessful applicant shall have the right of appeal to The Academy by way of the Proposer or Seconder (if such on the application or nomination) applying to a General Meeting of The Academy for a reversal of the Council's decision.
The Council Members do not have to give any reason for rejecting an application for membership.
Nomination for Honorary Life Membership for an individual must be proposed and seconded by Full Members. Full documentation of the case for granting such membership must accompany the proposal and be lodged with the Secretary at least one month prior to the agenda being drawn up for a General Meeting but shall only proceed to a vote by the membership at a General Meeting so long as the Council endorses, or itself initiates, the nomination.
